This website has been designed for professionals as a resource to supplement the Staying Steady and Independent with Dementia leaflet. Anyone is welcome to look through the information if it is likely to be of benefit for yourself or someone you know.
The toolkit brings together a collection of information from different organisations which is relevant to people living with dementia who are at risk of falling or who have fallen.
Dementia can change the way a person sees things and how they feel about things. A person living with dementia is four times more likely to experience a trip or fall. The consequences of this are greater for a person living with dementia and can have a huge impact on someone's independence, well-being and quality of life. Family and friends can subsequently be affected and there are likely to be costs on the health and social care system.
We want to encourage everyone to help a person to stay steady and independent with dementia.
